We teamed up with local food blogger Billy Dove AKA the 417Foodist to check out the farmer’s markets in Springfield! Check them out!
Spring has arrived and along with it the reopening of all our great local farmer’s markets! Each of the markets located in the 417 bring such a variety of great vendors, it’s hard to visit just one! Check out this rundown of just a sample of some of our great local vendors you can find at our local markets!
Farmers Market of the Ozarks
Located at Farmers Park 2144 E. Republic Road
Springfield, Mo 65804
Open every Saturday 8am-1pm
Blue Heron Farm & Bakery
Blue Heron Farm & Bakery is a farm that is in Marshfield that has quite the collection of items that you can pick up while visiting the market located at Farmers Park. You can get Duck eggs, fresh veggies, microgreens, and quite a selection of baked goods! My favorite item to pick up on Saturdays when I visit is their homemade tortillas!
Millsap Farm is a 20-acre farm located just outside of Springfield. They are growing organic vegetables all year long with their greenhouses. Not only do they have great veggies at the farmer’s market, but you can also pick up bouquets of gorgeous flowers! May through October they are also doing the Thursday night pizza club. You get to enjoy wood-fired; handmade pizzas cooked in their hearth ovens!
After a day of shopping at your local vendors at the Farmers Market of the Ozarks, you have surely worked up an appetite! Look no further than the line of great local food trucks that are set up on Saturdays at Farmers Park. Grab a hearty pasty from London Calling Pasty Co, some pork fried rice, and spring rolls from Lae’s Authentic Egg Roll. There are even some vegetarian and gluten-free options at the Chameleon Cuisine food truck. Don’t want something too heavy, get an Acai bowl from Abby’s Acai Company! Whatever you’re in the mood for, there is something for everyone!

CJW Pino Ranch
If you are on the hunt for some meat to throw on the grill this spring, CJW has your back! A ranch located in Lamar, Mo, you can find them at the market on Saturdays selling their dry-aged, non-GMO beef as well as Timber raised pork and pasture-raised chicken. So, grab some tasty meats and fire up the grill!
Trailer Perk Coffee
If you are like me, then being appropriately caffeinated in the mornings is a must. So why not grab a tasty beverage from Amber at Trailer Perk Coffee! They have a great menu of hot and iced coffees for you to sip on while shopping the market. You can get a chai tea, Italian soda, or a butter pecan latte called The Airstream which is my personal favorite!
What’s Alfredo is a great local personal chef that will come to your home and make you an elegant Italian meal. But did you know that they have a booth set up at the Greater Springfield Farmers Market on Saturdays? You can pick up a variety of fresh pasta, everything from whole wheat, vegetable infused, or even squid ink pasta! Stop in and say hi to Lorenzo and Kaylee and pick up something tasty while you’re at it!

Dani’s Flour Pot Bakery
Pie. There are so many ways a person can consume pie, and Dani’s Flour Pot Bakery has them all! Fruit pies, pot pies, hand pies, OH MY! When you have that sweet tooth or even a savory tooth (is this a thing?) Dani can hook you up. You can grab some delicious homemade pot pies filled with meats and veggies, or one of the many different fruit pies. They also have excellent fried hand pies as well as scones and muffins for all to enjoy!
Cedar Vista Farm
A small farm near Brighton, Mo, Cedar Vista is bringing all sorts of freshness to the C-Street Market. You can pick up some free-range eggs, pork, and even grass-fed lamb. If looking for something to throw on the grill this weekend, check out their great selection of pork brats! They have Habanero pepper, mild Italian, and even bacon cheeseburger. Whichever flavor you go with, it’s a win-win situation!
Green Future Cultivators
One of the best things to pick up at any farmer’s market is the fresh veggies. It’s even better when the produce is grown by many of our local farms. Green Future Cultivators is one of these great local farms that are growing year-round microgreens, salad greens even fresh herbs. So pick up some fresh arugula, radishes, or some kale and know that you are getting some of the best produce around town!
