Hack 4 Good Springfield connects designers and developers with community projects. Use your skills to help an area non-profit achieve greater impact through technology.
SPRINGFIELD ART MUSEUM MASTER PLAN – LUNCH AND LEARN
When: November 2nd and 13th from noon to 2 p.m.
Where: Springfield Art Museum – 1111 E Brookside Dr.
Join Museum Director Nick Nelson in the Museum’s Community Room for a lunch and learn informational session about the Museum’s 30 Year Master Plan. Hear all about the development of the plan and ask your questions about its potential impact on our community. Bring a brown bag lunch. The Museum will provide coffee/tea service. Free and open to the public.
FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK
When: November 2nd 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Downtown Springfield
The first Friday of each month brings hundreds of people to historic downtown Springfield for First Friday Art Walk, a Springfield cultural happening. Art lovers “Walk the Walk” throughout the Downtown Arts District, enjoying original art, music, demonstrations and performances in 28 gallery venues.
QUEEN CITY HAIRSHOW AND BARBER BATTLE
When: November 2nd, 5 p.m. to midnight
Where: The Riff
The competition will follow and it includes a nail tech, make-up artist competition. The hairshow will follow including an exciting student competition. The live barber battle will end the competition. Party into the night with the contestants.
CAMO-LOT BALL

Want to be able to help a great non profit that trains service dogs for Veterans AND have a great time? Join us at our first annual CamoLot Ball Nov. 2nd 6pm-11pm at Samuel Cedars Event Center (5124 S Farm Rd 213, Rogersville, MO 65742) We will be having great guest speakers, including a Veteran speaker on how his dog changed his life, one of our offender trainers on how our prison program helped rehabilitate and transform his life and our keynote speaker SSgt Johnny Joey Jones. You will also get to witness one of our dogs seeing his offender trainer for the first time since being adopted! We will have dinner, dancing and silent disco!

In response to this rapidly growing epidemic, we are honored to announce ‘It Knows No Face – Portraits of Suicide Survivors’ by Randy Bacon. It Knows No Face — because suicide doesn’t discriminate — has a mission to bring hope and healing to the many people affected; a topic that for too long has been avoided, misjudged and misunderstood.

Bright Ideas is a free evening of fast-paced presentations focused on sharing innovations relevant for the Springfield business community. It’s like TED Talks, only faster, more engaging, and with innovations that you can immediately use.
JARON MYERS

Jaron Myers is a powerhouse of unique and witty humor, combined with musical talent! His joy-filled, hilariously fun show has kept him busy with a tour calendar of over 200 shows last year! After leaving college in 2013, he began pursuing a dream of bringing a comedy show that would not only bring laughs, but also hope, to as many people possible. From his journey of weight loss, to his thoughts on Waffle House, dating, and baby talk, Jaron’s comedy is sure to have you rolling!
WINGAPALOOZA 2018

Wingapalooza is the premier wing competition in the Midwest. Area restaurants and corporate teams compete for honor and prestige as they seek to earn the title “Best Wings in Springfield”
4500 Wing eating patrons from all over the area flock to Wingapalooza to receive samples from participating restaurants, food trucks and local while watching entertainment by the area’s best bands
In addition to great bands, Springfield Sertoma keeps the party going with concessions, a wing eating contest, raffles, silent auction items and a premium selection of mixed drinks and beer!
SILVER DOLLAR CITY’S CHRISTMAS

Where: Silver Dollar City
Christmas in Midtown takes holiday lighting to a new level, filling over an acre with 1.5 million LED lights — 145 miles of lights covering 70,000 square feet — in the Midtown area alone. Huge light tunnels and wreath portals lead into the area, which includes light displays 9 stories high, flying angels, running reindeer, moving trains, a 90-foot tree, musical trees with moving lights, dozens of stars and snowflakes, and a giant turning globe, all created at Silver Dollar City.
OZARK BLOCK PARTY
When: November 3rd 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Where:Downtown Ozark Square
Come celebrate Ozark’s 130th birthday! The block party will be held on the Ozark downtown square from 4:00-7:00pm. Festivities include music, games, an art walk, kids’ activities, food, a beer garden, car show, and more!

TURKEY TROT 5K WALK/RUN
When: November 22nd, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where:Springfield Expo Center – 635 East St Louis Street
Turkey Trot is Springfield’s largest timed 5K run/walk of the year and the largest Thanksgiving Day 5K in Missouri, attracting more than 8,000 participants in 2017. Turkey Trot is held rain, snow or shine.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Youth Recreation Scholarship Fund and the Developmental Center of the Ozarks. Turkey Trot also serves as one of the largest one-day food drives for Ozarks Food Harvest, which collected more than 10,000 pounds of food at the event in 2017.

Based on the perennial holiday movie favorite, A Christmas Story – The Musical chronicles young and bespectacled Ralphie Parker as he schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams, an official Red Ryder® Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle (“You’ll shoot your eye out kid!”). An infamous leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the distractions that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas wish.
