Who doesn’t love a good batch of tendies? Some people might think of it as food for kids, but they’re just plain wrong. Chicken tenders are good no matter what age you are. They’re a perfect vehicle for dipping sauces, they’re crunchy, they’re savory, what’s not to like! We’re lucky to have so many great choices for a nice platter of tenders in Springfield and we thought we’d share some of the best places in town with you!
Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
For a lot of people, it’s tough to order anything other than chicken tenders at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. We recommend the Chicken Tender Platter with fries and broccoli cheese casserole. It’s a huge portion, so come hungry or save everything but the fries for a second dinner or a midnight snack! If you get it to go, don’t miss out on the little crunchies in the box. Easily one of the best parts!
FD’s Grill House
Fish Daddy’s AKA FD’s Grillhouse has pretty quickly become a hotspot for southsiders. Word on the street is that it’s run by alums of Cheddar’s and they brought the deliciousness of beautiful tendies with them. FD’s is right up there in terms of quality tenders with Cheddar’s. It is a chain restaurant, but it feels like a Springfield original when you dine in. Super-friendly staff and a great atmosphere are jut a few highlights of FD’s.
Civil Kitchen
So, these tenders aren’t alone. They come with a delicious friend! The chicken and waffles at Civil are amazing and they also afford you the opportunity to customize to your liking. You have the option of adding syrup and/or gravy to your chicken and waffles and there are multiple kinds of each! They have three kinds of gravy: peppered bacon, chocolate-chili and jalapeno. Plus, they have three kinds of syrup: cinnamon vanilla, maple bourbon, peanut butter maple and honey habeñero. So many different flavors to try!
Murfin’s Markets

Murfin’s is a grocery store, but that doesn’t mean you have to cook everything you find there! On Tuesday nights, Murfin’s has a chicken dinner special for the whole family for just $9.99! It’s a major favorite of families who live nearby and it’s a major lifesaver for busy parents trying to get dinner together for picky eaters! Plus, you can pick up your other groceries while you’re at it!
Fork and Spoon

Born out of the popular catering company Simply Delicious, the Fork and Spoon does comfort food with a modern twist. You can always expect quality ingredients and unique combinations. Their version of chicken tenders plays out like a classic fried chicken dish. It’s served with mashed potatoes, crispy green beans and savory gravy.

You can’t go wrong with anything on the Big Whiskey’s menu. It’s rock solid. Trust us! There’s one just a few blocks away from our office. We’ve tried pretty much everything! The tendies at Big Whiskey’s are excellent and they’re served with BW’s awesome fries too! With convenient locations all across the Ozarks, you’re never too far from tasty tenders at Big Whiskey’s!
Lambert’s
Locations in Ozark, Sikeston and Foley, Alabama
Sure, you go to Lambert’s for the throwed rolls, but once you’re there you can seriously dig in to a cornucopia of southern comfort food. The chicken dishes are pretty popular at Lambert’s, as they cook about a quarter of a million pounds of chicken every year in their restaurants! Remember, there are no doggie bags, but you can have as many tenders as you can handle because everything is all you can eat!
